~Melissa Wernke

For a moment my life fell silent,
and I allowed my soul to be filled with him.
And as he crept into my thoughts,
I made no move to fight within...

Now my hands long to reach for his--
but I have never known his touch.

My eyes long to linger on him,
yet his gaze has never fallen upon me.

My lips long to dance against his...
My fingers to run through his hair.

My breath to tremble,
My heart to beat,
my world to turn...

In time with his.

Yet I keep these feelings discreet,
of this stranger whom I hold so dear-
in waiting 'till we finally meet...
Our bodies far but our hearts near.
